Noncompliance and Safety Risk
In a minor crash or collision, a higher force airbag deployment may improperly occur instead of the expected lower force airbag deployment, which may increase the risk of airbag-induced injuries if occupants do not use a seat belt.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the SAS control module with improved software to correct the issue. The repair will be performed free of charge to vehicle owners.
