Overview
This datasheet describes the specifications of the COMMSCOPE Fiber drop cable, a self-supporting non-armored figure-8 outdoor drop cable with 1-12 fiber Arid Core construction and a 0.083 in messenger.
The cable is designed for aerial and self-supporting installations, with a LLDPE outer jacket, 0.083″ steel messenger wire, and 4.0 mm gel-filled buffer tubes. It has a total of 12 fibers, with G.652.D and G.657.A1 fiber types.
Physical and Environmental Specifications
The cable has a minimum bend radius of 10.2 cm (4.0 in) when loaded and 6.8 cm (2.7 in) when unloaded. It can withstand a tensile load of up to 400 N (90 lbf) long-term and 1334 N (300 lbf) short-term, with a maximum vertical rise of 1938.0 ft (591.0 m).
The cable operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C (-40°F to +158°F), and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +75°C (-40°F to +167°F).
Test Specifications and Certifications
The cable meets various test specifications, including compression, flex, impact, strain, and water penetration. It is also RoHS 2011/65/EU compliant and has ISO 9001:2008 certification.
