When driving with the parking brake engaged, be cautious of overheating, which can cause damage to your vehicle. Always ensure the shift lever is fully in PARK (P) with the parking brake set to avoid accidents.
Parking Safety
To park safely, ensure the transfer case is in drive gear, not NEUTRAL, and always put the shift lever fully into PARK (P) with the parking brake firmly set. Refer to the “Towing Trailer” section for additional guidance.
Never park in a garage with the engine running, and avoid parking over flammable materials or things that can burn.
Additional Safety Features
The Locking Rear Axle feature provides additional traction on snow and slippery surfaces.
The steering wheel can be adjusted by locating the tilt lever on the driver’s side of the steering column.
