Non-Compliance Information Report
Nissan North America, Inc. is conducting a voluntary recall campaign for 2018-2023 Nissan LEAF vehicles due to non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 103; Windshield defrosting and defogging systems.
The issue is related to the defroster operating instructions in the owner’s manual, which may result in reduced defroster performance under certain conditions, leading to limited visibility out of the windshield.
Affected Vehicles:
Approximately 64,732 Nissan LEAF vehicles may be affected, specifically those produced from September 29, 2017, through January 27, 2023.
Nissan will provide an owner’s manual addendum with updated instructions on how to operate the defroster under the subject conditions, free of charge to customers.
