Environmental Protection
Environmental protection at Mercedes-Benz means much more than fuel consumption. The company’s “Design for Environment” approach is integrated into the development process to minimize environmental impacts and costs.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Mercedes-Benz conducts a comprehensive and exhaustive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) called the “360 environmental check”. This assessment scrutinizes all environmentally relevant aspects of a car’s life, from manufacture of raw materials to production, vehicle operation, and recycling.
The results of the LCA are verified and validated by independent assessors from the TUV Sud inspection authority. Only then does a car receive its Environmental Certificate.
