This service bulletin addresses concerns with hard shifting and shift lever vibration in certain 2012-2016 Mazda3, CX-5, and Mazda6 models.

The issue is caused by inappropriate transmission internal parts and can be resolved by modifying the 3-4 clutch hub surface treatment, 3-4 clutch hub shape, and other transmission components.

2012-2013 Mazda3 (SKYACTIV 6 MT), 2014-2015 Mazda3 (Japan built 6 MT), 2014-2016 Mazda3 (Mexico built 6 MT), 2013-2016 CX-5 (6 MT), and 2014-2016 Mazda6 (6 MT)

Repair Procedure:
