Overview
Aries collet sockets are available in single or dual rows, cuttable to the desired number of pins, and side-to-side and end-to-end stackable.
Materials and Specifications
The body material is black UL 94V-0 Nylon 4/6, while the pin body is Brass Alloy 360 1/2 hard. Pin body plating options include 10u min. Gold, 200u min. 93/7 Tin/Lead, or 200u min. Tin.
The 4-fingered collet contact is Beryllium Copper Alloy, with contact plating options including 200u min. 93/7 Tin/Lead, 200u min. Tin, or 10u min. Gold over 50u min. Nickel.
Key Features and Ratings
The sockets have a contact current rating of 3 Amps, operating temperature range of -67°F to 221°F (-55°C to 105°C) for Tin, and -67°F to 257°F (-55°C to 125°C) for Gold.
The insertion force is 180 grams/pin, withdrawal force is 90 grams/pin, and normal force is 140 grams/pin, based on a .018 dia. test lead.
The sockets accept leads .015-.025 in diameter and have a suggested PCB hole size of .045 ± .002 dia.
