This technical bulletin addresses a ‘Gearbox Fault Detected’ warning message displayed on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) in 2019-2020 I-PACE (X590) models.
The warning message may occur in PARK, preventing the selection of DRIVE, or in DRIVE, causing a ratcheting noise followed by an abrupt stop when the vehicle speed reaches 5 km/h (3 mph).
Cause:
No retention to the front Electric Drive Unit (EDU) causes strain on wiring going to the park lock actuator connector (C1YE113A).
Action:
Follow the instructions to renew the front compartment wiring harness and perform other necessary repairs.
Important notes: Normal warranty procedures apply, and labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
