Before starting the installation, it is essential to disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle battery and remove the air box filter element. Remove the air box feed pipe from its chassis leg mounting point or the front panel, depending on the vehicle model. Undo the two air box mounting bolts and carefully lift the air box assembly from the throttle body. Move the air box assembly forward and remove the vacuum hose from the rear of the air box. Unclip and remove the breather hose from the base of the air box assembly. Remove the air box assembly from the vehicle.
Next, remove the vacuum hose from the rear of the inlet manifold, and then fit the K&N filter to the throttle body and secure it using the hose clamp supplied. Insert the elbow vent adaptor into the end of the breather hose and secure it with the original clamp. Insert the other end of the adaptor into the hole located in the base of the filter.
Carefully expand the flexi cold air hose and feed it past the side of the radiator. Secure the hose to the grille with a plastic tie supplied. Position the end of the cold air hose to finish approximately 10cm from the filter and secure it according to the instructions on the Recharger service kit. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
During the installation, the following precautions should be taken:
* Do not start the engine before completing the installation.
* Check the filter periodically for excessive dirt build-up.
* Service the filter every year or more often depending on driving conditions.
* Consult the user manual for cleaning instructions.
The installation is complete once all the parts are securely fitted and the car is ready to be driven.
