This service bulletin is intended for skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely maintain Honda vehicles. The purpose of this bulletin is to provide a warranty extension for repairs related to the MIL coming on with DTC P0420, P0430, P03Ox, or P219AIB, with software update.

The affected vehicles include the 2016-2018 Odyssey, Pilot, and Ridgeline models. The warranty extension covers the cost of repairs up to 10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The customer notification states that owners of affected vehicles will receive a notification about this campaign, and they should do an iN VIN status inquiry to ensure the vehicle is eligible for the recall.

The bulletin provides a list of necessary software updates, including i-HDS Software Version 1.005.038 or later, J2534 Rewrite Software Information, and PC Application Version 1.1.0.6 or later. It also emphasizes the importance of confirming the 9-speed A/T software is up to date, as outlined in Service Bulletin 19-072.

The inspection procedure involves connecting the HDS and performing an all-DTC check to identify any DTCs listed below, including P0420, P0430, P030O-P0306, P219A, and P219B. Depending on the DTC(s) present, the technician may need to update the PGM-FI software or replace the fuel injectors.
