Andy Saunders, a renowned car builder, has recreated the iconic Stratos Zero, a concept car designed by Marcello Gandini in the 1970s. The original car was a groundbreaking design that blended architecture, sculpture, and industrial design.
The replica was built on a Fiat X1/9 chassis, with a 1.5-litre engine producing 87lb ft of torque. It has a unique pedal box, bespoke exhaust system, and Campagnolo stickers on the rims to give it an authentic look.
The car features an 8-inch LED screen, a reversing camera, and a tiny Mountney wheel. It weighs around 800kg and has a top speed of 120mph.
Andy Saunders describes the driving experience as “painful” due to the unusual driving position, but states that it is “enormous fun” once you get used to it.
