Recall Bulletin

Certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles were equipped with camera harnesses that did not meet internal specifications, causing Autopilot features to become unavailable. The issue is caused by swapped views from the forward-facing fisheye and narrow view cameras.

To correct this issue, Tesla-certified Service Centers must swap the positions of the triple camera coax cables on connector X890, confirm the camera feeds are correct, and then complete camera calibration.

Making the Correction

The process involves removing the front passenger seat, footwell cover, and floormat (for Model Y only). The electrical harness is then disconnected from the car computer, and the coax cables are swapped and reconnected. The coax retaining tab is installed, and the electrical harness is reconnected to the car computer. Finally, the seat and other components are reinstalled, and the vehicle is tested using a laptop with Toolbox 3 and the Service Tools diagnostic software.
