Resistor Numbering System Overview

The datasheet describes a resistor numbering system used by Piconics, Inc. for their thick and thin film resistors.

Thin Film Sizing

The thin film resistor sizes are represented by a 6-character code, with the first two characters indicating the material, the next two characters indicating the substrate thickness, and the last two characters indicating the size in mills.

Example: 022 represents a 20X20 size resistor.

Thin Film Thickness and Tolerance

The thin film resistor thickness and tolerance are described, with options including 10 mils, 15 mils, 20 mils, and 25 mils, and tolerances of 0.25, 0.5, and 1. Custom thickness and tolerance options are also available.

Resistor Value Coding

The resistor value coding system is explained, with different formats used for values under 10 ohms, from 10 to 99.9 ohms, and from 100 ohms to 100 megohms.

Terminations and Materials

The datasheet lists the available terminations and materials for both thin film and thick film resistors, including gold, palladium, platinum, alumina, beryllia, and glass substrates.

Contact information is provided for Piconics, Inc., including their address, phone number, and fax number.
