Inadequate AC Performance Technical Bulletin

This technical bulletin addresses inadequate air conditioning (AC) performance on certain Jaguar models. The condition is characterized by low pressure on the high-pressure system and high pressure on the low-pressure system, with the compressor clutch working properly.

Causes and Remedy

The cause of this condition is likely a worn-out Direct Pressure Sensing (DPS) valve. To remedy the issue, the DPS valve must be replaced. This procedure should only be performed by trained professionals with the necessary knowledge, tools, and equipment.

Service Instruction

The service instruction outlines the steps to replace the DPS valve. These steps include removing the AC compressor, removing the circlip that retains the DPS valve in the compressor cylinder head, releasing the DPS valve, and installing the new DPS valve. It is essential to apply compressor oil to the O-rings of the new DPS valve and to ensure the valve is properly seated.
