The remote start system installation requires professional installation and is only applicable to vehicles with automatic transmissions. Before starting, the vehicle must be prepared by lowering one or more windows to prevent keys from getting locked in the vehicle, disconnecting the negative battery cable, and ensuring two valid Sentry Keys are present.
Tools and Parts Required
10mm and 1/4″ sockets, T20 screwdriver, and various wires with specific part numbers (82208859, 82209870) are needed for the installation.
The driver’s side lower dash panel, metal dash panel, air bag steering column shroud, and left dash panel must be removed to access the necessary components. Wires will be routed through the cowl panel to a hood-mounted safety switch and tachometer connection.
Steps for Vehicle Preparation
A variety of screws must be removed, and panels must be separated and removed to disconnect connectors as necessary. Removal of the air bag module is optional but recommended to make the installation easier.
