Toyota Technical Service Bulletin: Hybrid Warning With DTC U011087 and U029387 in Freezing Temperatures, 2019-2020 RAV4 HV

This technical service bulletin addresses a difficult-to-start condition in 2019-2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (HV) vehicles, accompanied by a hybrid system warning lamp, which occurs in below-freezing temperatures.

Repair Procedure

To repair this condition, the IGCT relay must be replaced with a new one. This is a warranty-covered repair under the Toyota Basic Warranty and California Emission Warranty.

Required Tools & Equipment

Only one Techstream unit is required, software version 15.00.028 or later. Techstream units and additional tools can be ordered through Approved Dealer Equipment (ADE).
