First Half 2019 Review

Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc has continued to execute its Second Century Plan, despite a challenging global macro-economic environment.

Strengthened Core Sports Car Ranges

The company is currently producing its three core models: the DB11, Vantage, and DBS Superleggera. Two new variants, the DBS Superleggera Volante and the manual Vantage AMR, have made their dynamic debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

DBX Production Trial Builds

Pre-production builds of the DBX, Aston Martin’s first SUV, have started as planned, and the new St Athan manufacturing site in Wales has completed commissioning.

Mid-Engined Sports Cars

The company has continued to develop its first four mid-engined sports cars, including the Aston Martin Valkyrie, Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, Aston Martin Valhalla, and the Vanquish Vision Concept.

Operational Discipline

The company is focused on protecting its luxury brand positioning, maintaining discipline on wholesale units, and maintaining the quality of sales.

Operational Preparedness for UK Withdrawal from the European Union

Aston Martin has successfully tested plans to mitigate the impact on the business from potential supply chain disruption in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

Sales and Revenue Analysis

Wholesale units grew 6% in the first half, with fewer Specials year-on-year as planned. Total wholesale unit growth was driven by a 24% increase in APAC and a 54% increase in the Americas.
