Pre-Installation Check
Before starting the installation, inspect the vehicle’s steering and driveline systems, including tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearing preload, pitman and idler arm, and suspension-to-frame attaching points for stress cracks. The overall vehicle must be in excellent working condition.
Installation Steps
The installation process is detailed and requires the removal of several components, including the skid plate, sway bar end links, ABS lines, and strut mounting bolts. It’s essential to follow the instructions carefully and study the illustrations before attempting installation.
Special Equipment and Precautions
Safety glasses, a fire extinguisher, and caution when cutting are recommended. Apply thread lock retaining compound where specified, and note that some parts may be difficult to install due to variations in construction and assembly.
