Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve (ICV) Fracture Special Coverage Adjustment

This bulletin provides special coverage for fuel tank inlet check valve (ICV) fractures on certain model year 2002-2004 Buick Rendezvous, 2001-2004 Chevrolet Venture, and 2001-2004 Pontiac Aztek and Montana vehicles. The condition may cause strong fuel odor or droplets of fuel on the ground during refueling or normal driving. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer, and claims must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin.

VEHICLES INVOLVED

The vehicles involved are 2002-2004 Buick Rendezvous, 2001-2004 Chevrolet Venture (regular wheelbase), and 2001-2004 Pontiac Aztek and Montana (regular wheelbase) vehicles built within the specified VIN breakpoints.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

The service procedure consists of inspecting the fuel tank fill tube at the base of the fill tube near the fuel tank, inspecting for evidence of a fuel leak, and replacing the fuel tank if necessary. The repairs must be performed by a General Motors dealer.
