The Second Key Delivery Program is a program initiated by Lexus to deliver a second smart key to select models that were previously delivered with only one smart key due to a global semiconductor shortage.
Program Details:
The program will be implemented in phases due to parts availability. Dealers will be able to duplicate and provide the owner with one additional smart key free of charge. A table in the attached FAQ will determine the remedy status and dates that Lexus estimates the remedy will become available for each model.
Covered Vehicles:
The program covers approximately 18,500 vehicles from model years 2023 GX, 2023 S, 2023 LC, 2023 LS, 2023 LX, 2023 NX, 2023 RCF, 2023 RX, and 2023 UX.
Program Phases:
The program will be launched in phases due to parts availability. Only vehicles in the currently launched phase(s) will be searchable on TIS. If a guest contacts a dealer about the status of the program on their vehicle and it is not applicable to this program on TIS/SLP, the dealer can use the table in the attached FAQ to further assist the guest on coverage and timing of launch for their phase.
Guest Handling:
Guests who receive an owner letter may contact a dealer with questions regarding the letter and/or the Second Key Delivery Program. Dealers should welcome the guests and answer any questions they may have. A Q&A is provided to assure consistent messaging is communicated.
