Brake Adjustment
The brake adjustment procedure is described for Units 9R1 to 9R80. The initial adjustment is obtained by adjusting the nuts (B) and (D) to obtain a 47″ length between the button on the brake shoe assembly and the face of the spring bracket.
Cable Control Unit
The single drum cable control unit is intended primarily for bulldozer operation, but can also be used for scraper operation. The cables should not be threaded through the sheaves during operation, as this may result in unsatisfactory operation and damage to the sheave brackets and towers.
Clutch Replacement
The clutches are of the multiple disc type construction and can be replaced readily. The plates should be kept free from grease and oil, as they are designed to operate dry.
