This voluntary safety recall campaign is conducted by Infiniti to replace the passenger (RH) side front airbag module on certain 2003 FX35/45 vehicles.
The campaign applies to vehicles with the following identification number: R21C1. Retailers are responsible for checking the campaign status on each vehicle that enters the service department.
The repair overview involves registering the new front passenger airbag module, replacing the old module, and returning the old module.
Service Procedure
Important: Follow all cautions, warnings, and notices in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) when working on or near a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
The service procedure includes disconnecting the battery cables, registering the new module’s serial number, and using the Quick Scan Tool to update the vehicle’s information.
