Echo During Phone Call

This technical service bulletin addresses an echo condition during phone calls via Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto on certain 2022-2023 model year Lexus vehicles.

Target Vehicles

The affected vehicles include:

  • 2022-2023 NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h with 9.8-inch touchscreen (limited to vehicles produced before the Production Change Effective VINs)
  • 2023 ES 250, ES 300h, and ES 350 with 8.0-inch touchscreen (limited to vehicles produced before the Production Change Effective VINs)

Symptoms and Resolution

The issue is characterized by an echo condition during phone calls via Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto, but the person in the vehicle does not hear or experience any echo or other abnormalities.

The condition can be resolved by replacing the amplifier assembly. The repair procedure involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal, removing and replacing the amplifier assembly, and confirming the condition no longer exists.
